A record number of soldiers from several European countries took part in the seventh military exercise codenamed "Flying Rhino" which was organised from April 27 to May 15, 2010 in the Czech Republic It SITA CZ that provided general waste management services for this international exercise. SITA’s well-prepared, flexible and in-time supplies proved the perfect quality of its services needed for such a specific event.

The extensive international military exercise was organised in the Czech Republic on the Air Basis #22 in Náměští nad Oslavou, in military training grounds in Brdy and Libavá, in territories of Pardubice and Vysočina regions, and in the Přerov Helicopter Basis.

The exercise is to train forward air controllers and ground forces during joint military activities within an international division. A record 2,000 soldiers from abroad and 1,000 soldiers from the Czech military zones took part in the military exercise. The joint exercise involves the forces of the Czech Republic, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Slovakia, Canada, Denmark and United Kingdom that regard this training as the biggest one this year.

Because SITA CZ is a national-wide provider, it was able to organise waste management in all military zones. It removed all wastes produced during the military exercise. Such wastes included communal wastes, hazardous wastes, aircraft oil, food leftovers, or waste water. Armies' requirements were rather specific and strict. This means, SITA had to respond very flexibly to all requests and had to provide an emergency service to respond to accidents and service emergencies.

During the final assessment of suppliers, SITA CZ was chosen among the best ones. The management of British units as well as commanders from the Czech Army have confirmed that the waste management services provided during the seventh military exercise were managed at best during the history of this exercise.
